Staying Motivated

A big part of success in any entrepreneurial business is staying motivated. And, that motivation must come from within you.

No one else can motivate another! You can have people in your life that you consider to be motivating and they will be there to motivate you momentarily but who is going to be there for you day in and day out to keep your eye one the prize and excited about your future?

YOU! You are the only one that can consistently motivate you! This is a sacred gift that you MUST give yourself to succeed at anything you want to do.

Start to motivate yourself by finding your why; your inner passion; desire and drive. Get those goals down in writing. This passion may or may not relate directly to your product or service. Your passion may exist in the activities that you do. For instance, helping people, working directly with people one-on-one or speaking to large groups. It may be in the flexiblity of your business, the fact that you can do every bit of it from home. It may be in a industry that is new to the marketplace and you are excited about the future growth. Passion can be delivered via many different vehicles. It can also be cultivated (for a future blog post).

Step 1:

Write out a simple daily action plan that you can and will commit to.

The important word here is 'simple'. So many people join a network marketing company and fail to understand that you can put in 5 hours a week (or less) and still be successful but you MUST be consistent!! You have to commit to your plan!

Step 2:

Arm yourself with positive reinforcements and a plan to know what you will do on those days you feel like quitting.

I started out calling my upline or sponsor whenever I was feeling unsure, scared or frustrated. For me, I knew that I just needed to hear from someone in my company who had also struggled at the beginning and now has created a successful, high income business. Many times my phone calll literally started out like this... "I know I want to do this and I scheduled time in my day to do this, but I don't know what to do next and I'm nervous about doing what ever I should be doing next. Please remind me why I'm doing this and what I should be doing with my time. Help!" It's funny now but I'm glad I was humble enough to reach out like that. That took some serious growth on my part to actually admit that I was nervous and didn't know if I could actually do it.

Seek out people who have been successful in the areas in which you want to be successful and use them as motivation. This is just one of many ways to motivate yourself.

Step 3:

Each day, wipe the slate clean; revisit your why and take action on your written plan.

This is where they system comes in. Just follow the plan and take action! You will have good days and bad days and your ultimate goal is the slowly but surely increase the distance between your bad days. This comes with practice and awareness. It comes with skill and experience. It's no different then getting sick and feeling so miserable that you think you're never going to feel good again and then, miraculously you do feel good again a few days later and life continues on as normal.

Before long, you'll find yourself motivated and creating strong habits for success. Start today! The Compound Effect is real!

With gratitude,

Allison
